Why do you need brand management? Your brand is not its logo and colors. Your brand is your reputation; the visual elements of your brand are just a part of it. To develop a strong brand, you need someone who can see processes that may not be working internally and externally (UX), disconnects in how different teams or constituent groups may view the organization and its mission, and how it is all being communicated to the world.

 

Your graphics, palette, writing style, and visual brand standards should reflect your mission and the "flavor" of your organization, and over time should evolve to stay fresh and inviting to new as well as existing audiences. Brand, therefore, is not a one-time sweeping change to be completed and then put on the back-burner. It is a constant cycle of evaluation, change, and implementation.
